New Radiant Sports Club has delivered one of the latest among late-drama victories in Dhivehi Premier League history, scoring two goals after 90+7 minutes of the game against TC Sports Club.

TC lost what could have been a crucial point in their effort to evade relegation, as The Blues ran away with the victory.

Ninety minutes of back-and-forth could not find a winner. But just as they were about to settle for a second draw in two weeks, the New Radiant managed to finally break the deadlock at the eighth minute of stoppage time. New Radiant’s left-back Vijudhan took a long cross from the left flank and found Alhaji Gero, who headed it in from the near post.

Less than thirty seconds after TC restarted the play, New Radiant’s Haji scored another header at the near post – this time from a long cross from the byline by Da Silva at the right wing.

Coming into the game, New Radiant were obliged to climb back up to third position after Buru Sports claimed it earlier this evening. They are back within two points of Odi.

TC are seventh in the table, as they were at the start of the game week. TC does have a high possibility of facing play-off games. With four games remaining, there is an eleven-point gap between them and the sixth-placed Victory Sports Club.

New Radiant have had a tough run of fixtures since November, losing against Maziya and Victory. The Blues managed to find their winning form against Buru in Game week 12, then equalized against Odi Sports Club in last week’s game.
