The new year’s opening week kicked off this Monday, as Maziya extends its unbeaten start to the season for the thirteenth game.
Maziya escaped with a narrow 2-1 win over United Victory, reaching 37 points. As of today, the Green Boys are eleven points above second-placed Odi Sports Club. Odi does have a game in hand as they take on New Radiant on Wednesday.
Maziya’s goals were scored in each half by Hamza Mohamed and Naiz Hassan. United Victory’s only goal came in the fifth minute of stoppage time, scored by Mohamed Samir Mohamed Muslih.
Monday night’s game saw Victory Sports Club extend its unbeaten run to a fifth game.
After a goalless first half between Club Valencia and VIctory Sports Club, Valencia scored in the 58th minute. The game was disrupted two minutes later, after the floodlights malfunctioned.
It took 25 minutes to get the lights back on and resume the game. Victory scored in the fourth minute of added time via a header from Ibrahim Shafraz. To compensate for the pause in the game, the play time was extended to 120 minutes.
Victory has now unbeaten in its last five games. They are in fifth position behind fourth placed Buru Sports Club. The draw puts Club Valencia just one point above United Victory. Both are at risk of relegation u
