Club Eagles have added a fourth game to their unbeaten run of fixtures, after scoring three first-half goals against United Victory on Saturday night.
Eagles first found the UV net at the 25th minute, as Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain (Feydhoo Ibbe) headed in a long cross from the Uzbek midfileder Abdhul Malik.
United Victory conceded two more before half-time, as goals from Eagles’ Sierra Leone forward Ibrahim Lebbe and Yoosuf Sidhaam added to the lead.
The second half saw a stronger United Victory throughout. They managed to narrow the lead through a goal by Ish’aaf Mohamed, but failed to make a comeback. United Victory is currently in eighth position with four points and a minus-nine goal difference.
Eagles grabbed the ninth point in seven games as they head into the international break inside the top four in the league standings.
Courtesy of newly appointed head coach Abdhullah Haneef (Benjo) and the years of first-division experience he brought with him, the Eagles are back up flying in high altitudes.
Eagles have had a tough start to the season, having lost two of the three opening games. Since then, the last season’s runners-up have turned things around, equalizing against both Odi Sports and New Radiant before defeating TC Sports Club last week.
