Dhivehi Sifainge Club has won the men’s division final of the MILO VAM Cup after defeating the defending champions HDC in the final last night.

After winning the tightly contested first set by 24-26, DSC lost the upper hand as HDC took home the second and third sets by 23-25 and 22-25.

DSC managed to rescue the game by winning the fourth set 25-20 and forcing a tiebreaker – a fifth set played to fifteen points. Just as the fourth set, DSC edged past the defending champions by a five-point gap; 15-10, reclaiming the VAM Cup trophy.

The last time DSC won the VAM Cup title was six years ago, when they defeated Police Club in the final of 2019.

DSC qualified for the final by defeating Huraa Community Club in three straight sets in the semifinal. HDC booked their spot in the final by defeating Dhandimagu Sports and Recreation in the semifinal by three sets to one.

Earlier yesterday, the third-place playoff game was played between the Huraa Community Club HCC and Dhandimagu Sports and Recreation. The volleyball club from Dhandimagu, one of the boroughs of Fuvahmulah City, claimed the bronze medal after a relatively comfortable victory: 25-20, 25-10, and 25-17.

Following the VAM Cup, the volleyball association’s National Volleyball League will start tomorrow with five participants; Police Club and the four semifinalists of VAM Cup.
