Dutch football legend Edgar Davids took part in an evening of football at Pele’ Stadium in Mahibadhoo, as part of the Juventus Extreme Fields event.
The match brought together a vibrant mix of sports content creators, influencers, and local talents, with Davids leading the line. Maldives national team captain and Mahibadhoo native Samooh Ali also played in the game.
Former national team goalkeeper Imran Mohamed and former national team striker Ahmed Thariq — now the Parliament Member for the Mahibadhoo constituency — were present at the stadium to commemorate the event.
The two-day Juventus Extreme Fields event, hosted in the capital of South Ari Atoll, kicked off Friday evening with the arrival of the Juventus fan club delegation.

The initiative is coordinated by Mahibadhoo football veteran Mohamed Naushad, whose viral drone footage caught the attention of the Italian club last year.
Pele’ Stadium is among a few venues that Juventus chose to host the Extreme Fields events. According to Juventus’ official channels, similar events are set to take place in New York and the Faroe Islands in the future.
