Thaa Thimarafushi and Kaafu Guraidhoo have been allocated into the same group as Fuvahmulah in the second phase of the Ninety-Plus Gold Cup’s group stage.
The second phase consists of four groups of three teams and will kick off on Monday when Thimarafushi takes on Fuvahmulah in the evening game. Thimarafushi, who ended third in Group B, faces the dominant Fuvahmulah after being thrashed by Male’ City and Eydhafushi, both games ending in a 4-0 defeat.
The sole representatives of Thaa Atoll redeemed themselves last Monday with a 4-2 win over B. Thulhaadhoo.
Thimarafushi will play against Guraidhoo in the evening game next Wednesday.
Guraidhoo, who defeated Huraa (3-1) and drew with Addu City (1-1) in the rather low-scoring Group C, will then take on Fuvahmulah on Saturday next weekend.
Fuvahmulah, who comfortably topped group A, will confront Guraidhoo and Thimarafushi on the back of a four-game winning streak. The city of Gnaviyani has demonstrated its dominance at the Galolhu Stadium, scoring 19 goals while conceding just four.
Two of the three teams will progress to the knock-out stages, with quarterfinals kicking off on December 17th.
