The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) and Maldives Soccer Mates (MSM) are planning to organize a tournament titled ‘Dhivehi Youth League’ this November.
The league, divided into under-16, under-14 and under-12, will be hosted in Galolhu National Stadium, Henveyru Stadium and Hulhumale’ stadium at the same time.
Although the clubs participating have not been disclosed at the moment, FAM has published the league schedule in the media group.
The under-12 and under-14 are scheduled to kick off on the 21st of November, both the age category matches are scheduled to be played at the Henveyru stadium. The under-16 category of the Dhivehi Youth League is scheduled to start on the 1st of December, with all three stadiums to be used for the games. The games of the under-12 and under-14 league will be played until January 11th 2025, and the under-16 league games are planned to be completed 5 days later.
There have been no competitive tournaments held for senior football clubs since the end of the club football season last December. The FAM had however held the under-19 Youth Championship earlier this year.
