The National Bodyboarding League “Ban’du Filaa Challenge” has started with 30 athletes in participation.

This year’s league has been divided into four divisions, and will continue from 12th to 16th November.

The divisions in this year’s tournament are “Men’s Open”, “Junior Men’s”, “Drop-Knee” “and Masters”.

Men’s Open division includes the most participants with 23 athletes, while five participants are in Junior Men’s. Drop-Knee and Masters events will comprise of eight and six participants respectively.

The Ba’du Filaa Challenge is the third and final event of National Bodyboarding League 2024; the first two were Burunu Shikaaru, held in the last week of May, and Labera, held from 30th September to 5th October. Ali Khushruwan had ended the two tournaments on top of the men’s open leaderboards, with a total of 2000 points, followed by Ali Javed with 1720 points.

The champion in Men’s Open in last year’s Ban’du Filaa Challenge was Ali Jawed (Jaatte), having scored 9.60 points. Amin Moosa was the number one in Junior Men’s division with 9.63 points. And having scored 11.0 points in last year’s drop-knee division, Ali Khushruwan had taken the gold medal.

With the result in last year’s tournament, Jaatte had earned a 2610 score, winning the National League. Junior Champion was Amin Moosa, having scored 3000.
