T-Rex BC put up a fierce fight but fell just short against Sri Lankan champions Colombo BC, losing 79-74 in a tense SABA Club Championship clash.
T-Rex started strong, edging Colombo BC 23-21 in the first quarter. However, the Sri Lankan side responded in the second, outscoring T-Rex 17-13 to take a narrow halftime lead.
The third quarter proved to be the turning point, as Colombo BC dominated 27-13, creating a significant gap. Despite trailing by 14 points heading into the final period, T-Rex refused to back down, storming back with a 24-14 run. Their late push made for a thrilling finish, but Colombo BC managed to hold on to the lead.
Gaurav Chandel once again delivered a standout performance for T-Rex, recording 18 points, 16 rebounds, and three assists. Singh Mandeep led the scoring with 19 points, while Ismail Vildhan Yoosuf contributed across the board with six points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
With two crucial games remaining—against Nepal’s Times Club tomorrow and India’s Tamil Nadu Club on April 7—T-Rex will be eager to turn things around and finish their campaign on a high note.
