Four of the five Maldivian athletes have taken the track on the first day of U18 Asian Athletics Championship.

The results of yesterday’s events are as follows:

Boys’ 100m – Ahunaf Rayyan Fahumee: 00:11.30 (eliminated)

Girls’ 100m – Rayn Mohamed: 0:13.56 (eliminated)

Girls’ 400m – Aminath Luhya Ahmed 1:08.94 (eliminated)

Girls’ 1500m finals – Zeek Ashraf Rasheed: 05:26.66 (4th place)

All five of the Maldivian athletes will compete in today’s heats. Yoosuf Naik Vajeeh will make his appearance in the high jump heat. Ahunaf will compete in the boys’ 200m sprint. Zeek is set to run in her 800m heat in the evening, and both Rayn and Luhya will race again in the girls’ 200m event later that night.

The 6th Junior Asian Athletics Championship started today in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Events of the championship are scheduled until Friday.
