The start of FAM Under-19 Youth Championship has been pushed back to February 13th.

The Football Association of Maldives announced the delay in a circular published Tuesday. The Youth Championship was initially set to kick off Sunday, February 2nd.

The FAM announced the championship on 14th January in a circular, inviting all the top-flight clubs, including the newly promoted Odi Sports and Victory Sports Club, as well as Club Valencia, who were suspended when last year’s Youth Championship took place. The deadline for registration was set to 20th January.

On the tentative 2025 Calendar, the FAM planned to hold the Youth Championship in June, as it did in 2024, but later pulled the date back over four months – to February 2nd – in the finalized version of the annual calendar.

U-19 Youth Championship: TC Sports Club Completes Invincible Quest to Glory

The Under-19 Youth Championship 2024 was the only annual tournament held by Football Association of Maldives throughout last year, since the tiered-leagues were brought to a halt.

The winners of last year’s championship were TC Sports Club, who defeated Super United Sports on penalties after a goalless final match.
